Third of the four Huggett films, this one is centred around the murky world of local politics, with Joe Huggett unwittingly becoming the pawn of rival business interests. Once again the cast is filled with familiar British character actors, several reprising their roles from the second film in the series. Petula Clark’s role is more prominent than previously and the eldest daughter and her husband don’t appear. Warner and Harrison are as dependable as ever and the latter’s malapropisms are a scream. Now over sixty years old, like the other films in the series it depicts a British way of life which is long gone.
